Heavy Optics Carrier makes light work for serious birders
An easy-access, hands-free solution for carrying heavy optics.
Grand Rapids, MI (June 2009) – Duckbill LLC is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative carrying solutions for outdoors enthusiasts. Duckbill’s Heavy Optics Carrier has emerged out of earlier research and engineering done on behalf of professional cameramen and women who carry all kinds of heavy and awkward camera gear.
According to Duckbill’s Paul Meunier, “The Duckbill approach to any of the personal body-borne carrying gear we make is to engineer an ergonomic solution that’s not only comfortable but also provides maximum functionality.” As anybody who has carried heavy and awkward optics on a trek into the woods or wetlands can attest, carrying a tripod slung on your back, or resting on your shoulder is never comfortable and functional at the same time.
Carrying a tripod on your shoulder can be a painful, or even dangerous affair. And access to your binoculars is never simple, and often is an unstable exercise.
If your optics are stowed and slung on your back, access to your scope or your camera is always a too slow process that’s also cumbersome.
The Duckbill Heavy Optics Carrier is a carrying system made for birders. So not only does it integrate comfort, stability and ease-of-access features, it also incorporates advantages like hand interchangeable purpose-specific modules designed to carry most small field craft tools, electronics, field guides, snacks, lenses, rain gear, etc. All of the modules you choose to wear can be integrated on this single ergonomic carrying platform – no need for additional and overlapping straps or pouches. Everything you need can be stowed and positioned by you on the Birder’s Belt or the diagonal sling to fit your specific needs.
The Single Platform Optics Carrier (or, SPOC for short) is made of the finest water repellant, mold-resistant and chemical resistant materials and is double and triple-stitched for a long service life in the field.
Duckbill’s Single Platform Optics Carrier (SPOC) is easy to transport, store and clean and is available in black or khaki.
