ABA Regional Symposium in North Dakota

The town of Minot, North Dakota is certainly excited to be hosting a regional conference of the American Birding Association. North Dakota’s first ABA meeting took place in Minot almost 40 years ago. Volunteers for the event described the town of Minot as being “located in a very unique birding area.” Sharp-tailed grouse and a variety of lesser-known sparrows are common sights in the area, although rare in most other places in the United States. Thus the small town is atwitter with the arrival of several out-of-state visitors looking to check off a handful of elusive listers.
